J. Michael Connolly

Mr. Connolly is an experienced litigator who represents clients in regulatory, constitutional, and appellate matters throughout the country. He has served as lead counsel in numerous high-profile cases raising novel constitutional and statutory issues. He has argued in the Supreme Court of the United States, as well as numerous federal circuit courts, federal trial courts, and state courts.

Mr. Connolly has particular expertise litigating cases involving the First Amendment, challenges to federal agency actions, SEC whistleblower awards, and civil rights. In addition to his legal practice, he is the Director of the Free Speech Clinic at the Antonin Scalia Law School at George Mason University, where his clinic defends the First Amendment rights of individuals and organizations.

Mr. Connolly is a former law clerk to Judge Jerome A. Holmes of the United States Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit. Mr. Connolly earned his J.D. from New York University School of Law and his B.A., with distinction, from the University of Kansas. He is a member of the Virginia and District of Columbia bars.
